*NEW* Tribal Drills & Combos - All Levels Welcome

   Thursdays, July 15th - August 5th, 6:00-7:00 PM

This class is open to anyone who'd like to come work on technique drills and learn combinations with a tribal focus.  We will work on locating and working individual muscle groups, drilling isolations, and putting them into combinations that can be easily transferred to one's own dance.  The class is open to all levels (some experience strongly preferred).  Be prepared to sweat and to have some fun!

Introduction to Tribal Style Bellydance - Beginning to Intermediate

   Tuesdays, June 8th - July 27th, 6:15-7:15 PM

This class is designed to introduce both the beginning bellydance
student as well as the "cabaret" style bellydancer to the Tribal
Fusion style of bellydance.  Basic to intermediate movements will
be taught and drilled (with a focus on the muscular control unique
to Tribal).  Steps from ATS (American Tribal Style), Egyptian "cabaret,"
Tribal Fusion, and even ballet and jazz will be integrated in technique
lessons, drills, and eventually a short choreography.  A brief history of
bellydance (with the origins of Tribal style in San Francisco) will be covered to
    give context to our dance.

Tribal Fusion Bellydance - Intermediate to Advanced

   Tuesdays, J
une 8th - July 27th, 7:30-8:30 PM

Come learn the technique and stylization of Tribal Fusion Bellydance
in a warm, friendly, and open environment.  Cabaret, ATS, and
fusion movements will be integrated into technique, combinations,
   and a choreography.

This class is appropriate for anyone with a bellydance background
and is geared toward the intermediate level dancers with
additional modifications for the more advanced dancer.

Dancers must be age 16 and up.  Classes are non-refundable and non-transferable.  Drop-ins are available with advance instructor permission.

Liora Bellydance

Liora is a Tribal Fusion and Middle Eastern Dance performer, instructor, writer, and costume designer in Austin, TX (formerly Atlanta, GA).  Liora began dancing at an early age by studying
classical ballet and modern jazz.  After graduating from Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics, she discovered belly dance through the Evening at Emory program with Isabel Crunk.  She then studied classical and modern Egyptian and Turkish belly dance with Diane Adams of
Company Mezza, and ATS and world fusion with Zi'ah Ali of Awalim.  She was a founding member of Dance of the Fates (now Jahara Phoenix) and later performed with dance partner Fatina.

Liora continues her studies by taking workshops with master instructors including
Moria Chappell; Rachel Brice, Zoe Jakes, Mardi Love, and Sharon Kihara of The Indigo; Suhaila Salimpour; Tamalyn Dallal; and many others.  She has completed her Cabaret Comprehensive Certification with Ansuya and was honored to recently study with Stacey Lizette of Austin, TX.

Liora was co-founder of
Southern Fusion Productions and also shares her passion for belly dance through writing, teaching, and sewing.  While pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Creative Writing, Liora has had articles published in Zaghareet! and Jareeda.  Liora has her own line of tribal belly dance costuming, Liora Designs; has taught classes in the metro Atlanta area; and has had the pleasure of  teaching workshops in Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
